AB InBev to invest US$400m in Nigerian unit expansion programme

NIGERIA – World’s largest beer maker, Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) has said it expects its total investment in the newly built Sagamu Brewery in Nigeria to hit US$400 million. Speaking during a media briefing in South Africa, the company’s chief executive officer, Carlos Brito, said that the investment is expected to improve the firm’s performance in the Nigerian market. Kensington Distillers & Vintners acquires Nigeria’s 1960 Rootz from AB InBev

NIGERIA – Kensington Distillers and Vintners Limited (KDV), London-based beverage producer, has acquired the 1960 Rootz brand in form Monument Distillers Nigeria Limited owned by AB InBev. The acquisition includes the state-of-the-art manufacturing plant used to produce 1960 Rootz, which according to KDV will soon be moved from AB InBev’s Port Harcourt production facility to Lagos where Kensington’s offices are based.
