China opens US$16.9 billion Beijing Daxing International Airport

CHINA – China, the second largest economy in the world, has in September this year, inaugurated the Beijing Daxing International Airport, in an event presided over by the country’s president, Xi Jinping. Beijing Daxing International Airport, built in less than five years for US$16.8 billion (120 billion yuan), is designed to handle 72 million passengers a year and has a terminal billed as the world’s biggest.
