UNICEF distributes US$5m supplies to help contain spread of COVID-19

SOUTH AFRICA – The United Nations International Children’s Fund (UNICEF), has procured and distributed supplies worth US$5 million to help contain the spread of the virus in the country since the beginning of its COVID-19 response in South Sudan. “From supply shortages to transport constraints, COVID-19 has brought enormous challenges to our supply operations,” said Dr Mohamed Ayoya, the UNICEF Representative in South Sudan. “However, with support from our partners, we were able to meet the most pressing needs and to deliver the supplies crucial for our COVID-19 response.” Supplies…
