SOUTH AFRICA – Transaction platform Ukheshe, in collaboration with a global cloud communications platform Infobip, has developed a WhatsApp payment gateway for use by Telkom South Africa customers. Telkom records strong financial performance, continues broadband push

SOUTH AFRICA – Telecommunication company Telkom has reported strong financial performance for the nine months ending 31 December 2020, posting robust mobile growth and strong free cashflow generation. The consumer business continues to be the driver of growth, with the mobile business sustaining its upward trajectory, increasing mobile service revenue by 40.7%, compared to the prior period to US$847.6 million. Tsholofelo Molefe quits Telkom, join MTN Group as new finance chief

SOUTH AFRICA – Telkom’s group chief financial officer, Tsholofelo Molefe, has resigned with immediate effect to take a new role of chief financial officer at rival MTN Group, where she will take on CEO Ralph Mupita’s former position. Telkom to dispose off data centre business in major shake-up

SOUTH AFRICA – Telkom’s ICT services business BCX will spin off its data centre business into another Telkom subsidiary, Gyro, and the telecommunications group may then seek external investors for the unit.
