NIGERIA -Verod Capital Management, a West African private equity firm, has hired Nieros Oyegun Soerensen as a Principal and the firm’s Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Soerensen brings over 15 years of rich finance and leadership experience, most recently as the Head of The Africa List and Nigeria coverage at CDC Group, where she supported the growth of CDC’s investment footprint in the region, with an emphasis on developing management and organisational capacity within the portfolio and beyond.
She was previously the Head of Corporate Finance and Investor Relations at LADOL, and also has project finance and corporate strategy experience from Macquarie Capital, and investment banking experience from Goldman Sachs & Co.
She serves on a number of boards internationally, having gained qualifications in corporate governance and company direction from the Institute of Directors UK.

Soerensen joins the executive management team at Verod and will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the firm, building a stronger platform for sustainable growth and supporting Verod on its path to becoming an exceptional investment firm.

This comes months after Verod hired Wale Odusanya as a Vice President in its Lagos office and a Senior Deal Maker on its Investment Team.
Odusanya joined Verod from Stanbic IBTC Capital, where he spent the last 13 years, most recently as the Head of the Financial Advisory business.
He was involved in originating and executing M&As, divestitures and corporate restructurings and has completed transactions across key sectors in Nigeria, including sectors that overlap with Verod’s investment strategy, such as, financial services, consumer products and services, and manufacturing.
